Rep. Denley Loge of St. Regis will run for Montana's Senate District 45 in the next election.

The district covers Mineral County, Sanders County east of Plains, Missoula County west of Frenchtown, Lolo, Lolo Creek and Missoula southeast of 39th Street.

“I am proud and excited to announce my candidacy for state Senate,” Loge said in a press release. “Fiscal management and strong leadership are crucial in these difficult economic times due to inflation. As their senator, I will make sure the people of Senate District 45 are represented in Helena.”

Loge represented House District 14 for four terms as a Republican.

No other candidates had filed to campaign for SD 45 as of Monday.

In the press release, he said he has experience first-hand in agriculture, land-use planning, forest management, transportation and wildlife issues.

“The various agricultural, property tax and housing issues that Montanans are facing will only be improved by us as legislators working together and holding candid conversations to create solutions that will benefit Montanans. “

"We are Montana's future, and I want to continue to lead the state with strength and effectiveness on behalf of the people of District 45,” Loge said.

Rep. Paul Fielder, R-Thompson Falls, filed to run for Loge's HD 14 seat. Fielder has represented HD 13 the last two legislative sessions.
