COLLEGE NOTEBOOK: Alexander runs new personal best 3K for LCSC

MAX OSWALD | Hagadone News Network | UPDATED 12 months AGO
by MAX OSWALD
I grew up in the small town of Orwigsburg, Pa., where I resided all of my life before moving to Sandpoint. I attended Blue Mountain High School, where I participated in cross country and track and field, a sport that I ended up falling in love with. I went on to attend and run for DeSales University (with other brief stints at Susquehanna University and Elizabethtown College) and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in sport communication with a minor in sport management. I remember just how great it made me feel when I was mentioned in my hometown newspaper. I want to be able to give that feeling to every athlete in Bonner County, no matter how big or small their accomplishments are. As an athlete myself, I know how many hours of work are put in on a daily basis, and that hard work deserves to be recognized. It is my goal to cover as much of the Bulldogs, Spartans and Wampus Cats as I can. I want to work with every athlete, parent, coach, administrator and the community to ensure the best stories are published. | January 25, 2024 2:00 PM

Connor Alexander, Lewis-Clark State College Track & Field

Utah State’s women’s team won the invitational, which consisted of three other teams (Utah Valley, Idaho State, and Weber State), with 131.5 points. Part of Utah State’s team will compete at the New Mexico Invitational Jan. 26-27 while others will compete at the Washington Invite Jan. 26-27.

Teagun Holycross, Montana University Track & Field

Priest River’s Teagun Holycross placed sixth out of 33 runners in the 60-meter dash (6.89) and fifth out of 32 runners in the 200-meter dash (21.87) amongst a stacked field at the Lauren McCluskey Invitational held at the University of Idaho Jan. 19-20. Montana is back in action Friday, Jan. 26, when the team heads to Montana State University for the Bobcat Challenge.

CORRECTION: In the previous edition of the College Notebook, it was reported Holycross’s 60-meter dash time was 8.67 seconds at the 2024 Spokane Indoor Challenge. His time was actually 6.87 seconds, only .02 from his all-time best.

Sara Hathaway, Lewis-Clark State College Track & Field
