MOSES LAKE — A $10,000 donation from a Moses Lake couple will help pay for repairs to the well at Garden Heights Elementary. The donation made by Derick and Audra Eckenberg was announced by Moses Lake School District officials Monday.
“This substantial contribution will aid in the significant repairs needed to make the school water well fully operational,” according to an MLSD press release.
“The repair work will be conducted in phases due to the availability of parts. In addition to the well repairs, any remaining funds from this donation will be allocated toward reseeding and repairs of the school grounds and building,” the press release said.
Interim Superintendent Carol Lewis said the donation would have a significant impact on the district’s efforts to improve education at Garden Heights.
“We are incredibly grateful to Derick and Audra Eckenberg for their generosity and support,” Lewis wrote. “The Eckenbergs’ contribution is a testament to the strong community spirit that we cherish in Moses Lake.”
