Voyles, 40, was the top local male finisher in the Ironman 70.3 Coeur d’Alene on June 23, finishing in 3 hours, 55 minutes and 44 seconds, good enough for seventh out of 1,596 competitors. By winning his age group (40-44), Voyles qualified for the World Championships in New Zealand in December. “The first several miles on the run, I was getting good splits,” Voyles said. “If you’re having a good run, it’s going to be a good day.”
