I grew up in the Tri-Cities, Wash., and have always loved to write. I attended the University of Washington, where I earned a double major in journalism and political science, with an area of emphasis in history. I am the fifth out of six kids — don't believe any of the stories that my siblings tell. To be able to tell others stories and take photos for a living is a dream come true — and I considered myself blessed to be a community journalist. When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, hiking and spending time outdoors, genealogy, reading, and watching the UW Huskies and the Seattle Seahawks. I am a servant to my cat, Frankie, who yes, will eat anything and everything in sight … even wedding cookies. | July 4, 2024 1:00 AM

Idaho State Police have located a dark-colored pickup truck sought in connection with a June 29 crash that killed two elderly Boundary County residents.

The pickup was sought after witnesses reported it was seen turning westbound onto Schoolhouse Road from the northbound lane on U.S. 95 around the time of the crash, shortly before 5 p.m.

The announcement by the agency Wednesday comes as ISP officials continue to investigate the three-car crash that led to the death of a 73-year-old male and a 71-year-old female.

Investigators encourage anyone who witnessed the collision or has additional information about the vehicles involved, to call ISP at 208-209-8620.

ISP investigators said the accident occurred when a northbound 2023 red Freightliner driven by a 24-year-old male from Surrey, British Columbia, lost control when he had to brake suddenly to avoid stopped vehicles. The semi skidded into the southbound lane striking two passenger vehicles head-on.

The first, a white 2019 Toyota SUV driven by a 73-year-old male, and the second, a white 2011 Kia Sorento driven by a 33-year-old man from Athol. The driver of the Toyota SUV died at the scene; his passenger, a 71-year-old female, succumbed to her injuries Monday.

The driver of the Kia Sorento sustained minor injuries and was released at the scene. The commercial driver was uninjured.

The crash remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police.

Any witnesses are asked to call ISP at 208-209-8620.
