An enchanting blend of music and cuisine set at a historical Kalispell landmark transports guests to the Regency era during a scintillating affair on July 31.

The Glacier Symphony Quartet and Conrad Mansion are hosting the soirée. The symphony's quartet will perform music from the historical fiction-romance television series “Bridgerton” at the mansion. Along with the divine notes of the musical performance, the evening includes dancing, guests in their finest Regency attire, an exquisite high tea and the opportunity to tour the mansion.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the event runs from 6-9 p.m.

Music for the Netflix show “Bridgerton” features an orchestral and classical score composed and produced by Kris Bowers and orchestral covers of contemporary popular music.

About 30 minutes of music was carefully selected from the three seasons of the show and combined with other songs of the time to create the evening, Concertmaster Ali Schultz Levesque said.

“We selected pieces that would set the mood and be danceable and celebratory,” she said. “We wanted to capture the mood of the soundtrack and play music that creates an enjoyable evening.”

The quartet made up of two violins, viola and cello features principal and alternate principal musicians from the symphony’s orchestra. Songs include the main title from “Bridgerton” to set the mood, and other popular songs like "What About Us” by P!nk, “Material Girl” by Madonna, and “You Oughta Know” by Alanis Morissette.

Schultz Levesque likens the classical crossover music to modern adaptations of Shakespeare's plays.

“It’s fun to play music that breaks out of that classical music box,” Schultz Levesque said. “To play instruments that have been around for hundreds of years with contemporary music, the music becomes more accessible.”

The series “Bridgerton” is set during the Regency era from 1811 to 1820, a period of change and development in the world of fashion, architecture and style. During the subsequent Victorian area known for revolutionary breakthroughs in the arts and sciences, the Conrad Mansion was constructed in 1895.

Highlights of the evening include opportunities for promenading and dancing while guests are encouraged to dazzle in silks, satins, and jewels to participate in the best costume contest celebrating period attire. Catering by The Salty Calf provides an authentic taste of Bridgerton-inspired refinement.

Proceeds from the evening benefit both the Glacier Symphony and the Conrad Mansion.

Tickets are priced at $125, with $100 of the ticket price being a donation split between both the Glacier Symphony and the Conrad Mansion.
