MOSES LAKE — As the month comes to an end and the temps are up, there are still plenty of cool things to do in the Basin. Here are a few things to consider if you’re needing a break from the house. 

July 25

Aloha Summer Celebration 

The celebration will be at Seed Cupboard Nursery and starts July 25 and goes until July 28. It will have a variety of sales, a drawing to win a free dinnerplate hibiscus and garden grill specials. The event will be at 12543 Road H SW, Royal City, WA 99357. facebook.com/seedcupboard. 509-989-0428.

A good book

Join a librarian from the Ephrata library at lee Park in Ephrata for a chance to hear a story at 9 a.m. this Saturday. Weather permitting, there will be a book reading or two, some silly songs and just a good time. Live music at McCosh Park

Summer Sunflower Festival

Farmer’s Market in Ephrata

The Basin Summer Showdown

Comedy on the Columbia

COLUMBIA BASIN — There are three ways to buy a fishing license in Washington. Anglers can visit the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife website at fishhunt.dfw.wa.gov and order online, or they can call 360-902-2464 to order one. Online and phone orders may take seven to 10 days before you receive your license, according to the WDFW website, so the fastest way is to visit a licensed dealer.
