MOSES LAKE — Four people were booked into the Grant County Jail on outstanding warrants following a cooperative investigation between the Moses Lake Police Department and Grant County Sheriff’s Office into possible criminal activity in Civic Park in Moses Lake.

A MLPD press release said the focus was on activity in the park, at the Moses Lake Public LIbrary and at a nearby business.

“Through the use of surveillance, uniformed and plainclothes officers and detectives, the operation resulted in the detention and/or arrest of eight subjects,” the press release said. “Arrests were for outstanding warrants. Any additional charges will come from further investigation.”

Merced Rodriguez Jr, 54, Moses Lake; Devon Knauss, 27, Moses Lake; Nicholas Svelnys, 27, Othello; and Calvin Phillips, 37, Moses Lake, were booked for warrants.

“This operation would not have had the success it did without the assistance of the (GCSO),” the press release said.
