Chip sealing planned for Royal City streets Friday

ROYAL CITY — Drivers will be asked to avoid parking on sections of six Royal City streets Friday, and traffic will be subject to control, to allow chip-sealing in those street sections. Roadwork will start at 5 a.m. and is scheduled for completion by 5 p.m., according to a city press release.
Grant County maintenance crews will be working on Ahlers Avenue North from Road 12 Southwest to Camelia Street Northwest, Widmer Drive Northeast from Ahlers past the intersection with Hargraves Avenue Northeast, and Hargraves past the intersection with Rock Creek Street Northeast. All of Poarch Avenue Northeast will be covered with chip-seal, as well as Wildflower Street Northeast from Ahlers to Poarch. A section of King Street Northeast will be chip-sealed also.
Residents of those neighborhoods are being asked to avoid parking along the streets and in city rights of way. Parking restrictions will be enforced while the work is underway and vehicles that are parked on city rights of way will be towed, the press release said.
