Registration for community health meeting now open

MATTAWA — The Grant County Health Department is hosting a listening session Aug. 6, at Wahluke High School in Mattawa. The session from 4:30 to 6 p.m. will focus on developing the Community Health Improvement Plan for the county.
The CHIP aims to address the most pressing health needs in Grant County and relies on input from the community. Participants will discuss key health issues, review findings from the Community Health Assessment and explore strategies for improvement. Dinner will be provided and served at 4 p.m. before the meeting.

Seattle man booked on vehicular homicide charges
EPHRATA — A Seattle man was booked into the Grant County Jail Thursday on two counts of vehicular homicide in connection with a head-on collision Aug. 8 near George, where he was allegedly driving the wrong way on Interstate 90.
Body found, believed to be missing Moses Lake man
STRATFORD — A body believed to be that of a Moses Lake man missing since Sept. 5 was found in an irrigation canal near Stratford Thursday.
