The U.S. Forest Service has announced temporary closures for several roads and trails near Coeur d'Alene due to various activities in the area.

Near Magee Cabin, a portion of Little Elk Creek Trail will be closed from Aug. 1 to Oct. 15 due to active logging operations. The closure begins approximately 1.5 miles from the trailhead.

In the Emerald Creek area, a 3.7-mile section of Emerald Creek Road will be closed from Aug. 5 to Sept. 16 for the replacement of three bridges. This closure starts about 0.2 miles south of its junction with Forest Service Road 504.

Wildfire activity from the Grandmother Fire has prompted closures in the Grandmother Mountain area near Clarkia. Segments of Forest Service Trails 275, 251, 280 and 260 will be closed from July 30 to Nov. 1.

These closures are being implemented to ensure public safety during these activities. Visitors planning to travel to these areas should check for updates and plan their trips accordingly.
