Cameron, a junior, won the state 5A boys 400-meter dash at Mountain View High in Meridian on May 18, winning with a time of 47.79 seconds. “State is one of those meets where the objective is to peak at the right time,” Post Falls coach Wade Quesnell said. “Some of it was luck, and some of it was the work that Cobe put in before regionals. He was a little nicked up and hadn’t been pushed until Pasco, and he didn’t react well. At state, when he was pushed, he really reacted down the stretch. He did a good job in the offseason."
