The Dance Alliance, the elite dance company of Brigham Young University-Idaho, will perform its new work, "Now and Then: 60 Years of the Beatles," at 7:30 tonight at the Kroc Center.

Set to Beatles hits, the choreography celebrates the 60th anniversary of the band's arrival in the United States.

Advanced dance students from Alta Dance Company and the Dance Company in Coeur d'Alene, as well as Northern Dance Academy in Dalton Gardens, have been invited to perform as a prelude to "Now and Then."

Performers of the Dance Alliance work in multiple genres and styles of dance — ballet, ballroom, contemporary, hip-hop, jazz, foot works and world. These dances are woven together with music, costumes and challenging choreography.

Since it formed in 1978, the company has toured Canada, Mexico, Central America, Peru, Brazil, Austria, Belarus, Ukraine, Russia, New Zealand and Fiji.

The Dance Alliance performance in Coeur d'Alene is sponsored by the Jeanne E. Holmberg Charitable Trust. A printer by trade, Holmberg in her will provided funds to present varied lively art programs in the Coeur d'Alene area. This performance is part of that gift. She and her husband, Ralph, were active in civic affairs and were founding members of Art on the Green.

Following the Coeur d'Alene show, the company will take "Now and Then" on a summer tour through the Midwest.

Tickets are $15 online at kroccda.org/kroc-cda.

The Kroc Center is at 1765 W. Golf Course Road, Coeur d'Alene.
