KCSO arrests two after traffic stop

POST FALLS — Two men were arrested following a traffic stop by a Kootenai County Sheriff's deputy late Tuesday.

Brian D. Hanson, 64, Post Falls, and Michael J. White, 69, Hayden, were taken into custody near Interstate 90 and Pointe Parkway.

During the traffic stop for a minor traffic violation, a Post Falls police K-9 responded and the K-9 alerted on the vehicle, according to a KCSO press release.

Over a pound of methamphetamine, a gram of fentanyl, a handgun and multiple pieces of paraphernalia were located inside the vehicle, the release said.

Hanson, the driver, was booked into the Kootenai County jail for possession of controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting/obstructing a peace officer, the release said.

White was booked into jail for trafficking methamphetamine, possession of fentanyl and unlawful possession of a firearm, according to the release.
