The Loyola boys won the State Class B championship Saturday evening with a convincing win over 2B conference member Fairview 69-54. The win capped a 25-0 season for the Breakers from the Western 6B conference on the heels of their Western Division championship a week earlier.

Lodge Grass High finished third in the boys Class B competition with a thrilling 78-77 win over 6B Arlee.

In the girls Class B title chase, Baker beat the Loyola girls 57-44 at the MetraPark arena in Billings. The win gave the Lady Spartans a 22-4 season record. Third place in the Class B girls competition went to Huntley Project, which beat 6B Anaconda 58-50.

In all, four teams from the 6B conference finished in the top four places.

In the Class C tournament boys title chase, Box Elder from the Northern 9C conference defeated perennial favorite Manhattan Christian 68-64, handing the Eagles just their second loss of the season. The first place finish preserved Box Elder’s perfect season, leaving them with a 26-0 overall record.

Lustre Christian was third in the Class C boys title chase following their consolation round win over Harlotown-Ryegate by a 53-43 score.

Saco-Whitewater-Hinsdale, a member of the Eastern 3C conference, was the third unbeaten team to win a state championship, romping past Roy-Winifred 62-31 Saturday night in Great Falls. SWH finished the season with a 26-0 overall mark.

Third place in the girls Class C finals went to Twin Bridges from the Western 12C conference as the Lady Falcons knocked off Roberts 61-46 in the consolation final.

The Twin Bridges win gave them a 24-2 season record, which includes their Western Divisional championship two weeks earlier.
