Kindergartners at Hayden Meadows Elementary released more than 1,000 ladybugs into their school greenhouse Monday.

The students are learning about bad bugs, which eat the plants, and the good bugs that eat the bad bugs. Of the shell beetle family Coccinellidae, ladybugs help greenhouses and gardens stay healthy by devouring aphids and other small insects.

In any case, black and red cuteness was crawling all over the plants and the kindergartners as well, making for much laughter and many smiles.

Ladybugs crawl all over kindergartner Josephine Yrigoyen as the critters are released Monday into the Hayden Meadows Elementary School greenhouse.
