RATHDRUM — A Post Falls man died following a two-vehicle collision on State Highway 53 just west of Rathdrum on Sunday.

According to the Idaho State Police, the 25-year-old was eastbound in a 1994 Ford Bronco when he went left of center and entered the westbound lane. 

A 24-year-old Spokane Valley woman was westbound in a 2009 Toyota Camry when they collided head-on about 3:45 p.m., ISP said in a press release.

The driver of the Ford Bronco was not wearing a seat belt. He was ejected from the vehicle and was later pronounced deceased on scene, ISP said.

The driver of the Toyota Camry was transported to the hospital by ambulance.

State Highway 53 was blocked for about two hours. The crash remains under investigation by ISP.
