Othello to hold 26th Annual Othello Spring Clean-Up Days

OTHELLO – The city of Othello will be holding the 26th Annual Spring Clean-Up Days from April 1 to April 6, according to a Thursday announcement from the city.
The statement said appliances and scrap metals need to be in your alley or, if no alley is present, on the front curb by March 31 for pick-up April 1 through April 3. Yard vegetation can be taken to the loading dock at 1016 S. Broadway Avenue on April 3 or April 6 from 8 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Yard vegetation includes grass clippings, shrub trimmings, leaves and tree clippings, the statement said.
The loading dock is a temporary location for the clean-up event, the statement said. Normally, yard vegetation and yard debris may be taken to the transfer station, located at 504 S. Lucy Road, at your own expense.

Collision kills driver near Quincy
QUINCY — Adams Road near Quincy was closed for about three and a half hours Wednesday afternoon due to a collision between a semi-truck and a passenger vehicle. The car’s driver was killed in the crash. The collision occurred at about 12:45 p.m., according to a release from the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, between Road 5 Northwest and Road 6 Northwest. The driver’s name was withheld pending notification of family members, said Kyle Foreman, GCSO public information officer. The case is still under investigation.
