LEWISTON — Sophomore sprinter Makenna Baisden took first place in the 200m and 400m at the Lewiston Track and Field Invite, earning two new personal records on March 22 for Bonners Ferry.

Baisden improved her 200m time to 27.22 — a 0.82 second improvement from her previous PR, which was earned at the Timberlake Invite last season. She also improved her 400m time to 1:01.67 crushing her previous PR from the Bonners Ferry Invite by 1.14 seconds. 

In the two-mile race, junior Sydney Beckle also took first with a time of 13:09.34, beating out the second-place runner by nearly a minute. 

Taking second place for the Badgers was junior Asher Williams in the high jump. He also earned a PR of 6-foot-2 inches jumping three more inches than he had at the season opener. He finished in second behind Trenton Mclean of Post Fall, who also jumped a distance of 6-foot-2 inches due to taking more attempts to clear the height. 

Asha Abubakari, 3A defending shot put and discus state champion, took second place in the shot put at 41 feet 3 inches and the discus at 128 feet. 

The girls sprint medley [100-100-200-400] finished in second place at 1:55.31 behind Moscow at 1:53.10. Ireland Grady, Eva Willis, Asha Abubakari and Makenna Baisden ran legs for the Badgers. 

The Badger girls took third and the boys finished ninth
