Instead of extremism, let's choose moderation

There is nothing wrong with compromise for the good of the whole community. The constant push for personal agendas is gaining nothing but more division. Some Republicans and some Democrats are locked into extreme positions at opposite sides of issues. We need leaders who are committed to the common good.

Abortion for convenience is not good. Abortion is murder, but sometimes is medically necessary. The latest laws have driven out qualified medical professionals and eliminated some health care options in Bonner County. This needs to change.

A sense of community, belonging to others, seems unimportant. We applaud Speaker Mike Johnson for his courageous actions in Congress, promoting a bipartisan decision for our nation, not political gain. “My way or the highway” doesn’t sustain a healthy government in our county, state or nation.

We need law and order, civil speech, respect for other’s opinions, and the commitment to work with opposing views reasonably. We don’t have to agree with others, but compromise is necessary at times in government, just like any successful marriage. Let’s choose moderation rather than extremes, a new approach for Bonner County citizens. Vote for Jim Woodward.
