Bigfork baseball gets W over Troy

Bigfork got strong pitching outings from Mason Lewis and Ryeln Rodriguez in an 8-3 West Division victory over Troy on Tuesday, April 30.

The Vikings scored six runs in the first two innings and cruised to victory as Lewis struck out five batters in four innings and Rodriguez fanned five more Troy batters.

Grady Campbell was 2-for-4 in the game while driving home two runs. Liam Benson and Hayden Mayer also drove in runs. 

Both teams committed five errors, and Bigfork finished with five hits as a team.

Bigfork Stymied in Loss to Eureka

Bigfork was held to two hits in a 6-1 loss to Eureka on Friday, May 3 in West Division Baseball action. Hayden Mayer pitched the first three innings for the Vikings, allowing two hits and striking out two. Mayer helped his own cause, driving in a run and hitting a double. 

Bigfork committed four errors in the game, while Eureka had eight hits as a team. Mason Lewis finished the game on the mound, pitching three innings and striking out five. Eureka led 2-0 after three innings and after Mayer’s RBI in the top of the sixth, Eureka added two more runs to pad their lead. 

Grady Campbell also had a double in the game for the Vikings.

Ronan Defeats Bigfork

Ronan held Bigfork to just one hit in an 11-2 West Division victory on Saturday, May 4, on the Vikings’ home field. Bigfork sent four different pitchers to the mound in the loss. 

Ronan had nine hits and led 5-2 after three innings and added three more runs in the top of the fourth. Bigfork’s fielding committed eight errors in the matchup. 

Ryan Rodriguez had Bigfork’s lone hit while Greg Campbell drove in a run for Bigfork. Rodriguez also stole two bases in the game.
