Moses Lake man dies in motorcycle crash

COEUR d'ALENE — A Moses Lake, Wash., man died in a motorcycle crash in Kootenai County on Sunday.

According to the Kootenai County Sheriff's Office, Austin Vickery, 28, was navigating a curve on Forest Service Road 437 at about 3 p.m. when he lost control, went down an embankment and struck a tree. 

The KCSO Back Country Unit and Traffic Unit, along with Kootenai County Fire and Rescue and Northern Lakes Fire responded.

"Once on scene, it was learned motorcycle and rider were then thrown down an embankment, resulting in the rider’s death," a press release said.

An investigation continues. Speed is believed to have been a factor, the release said.
