Irene G. Wolters (Gardner), 100, of Osburn, Idaho, passed away. She was born to Coin C. Gardner and Clara Ann Bowden in Shamrock, Texas, and raised along with her four siblings in Mead, Kansas. Irene attended Bethany College and worked various jobs until she moved to Osburn in the 1950s. She was employed by Zanetti Brothers for 37 years as a secretary.
Irene married Albert Wolters on Aug. 2, 1990. Irene and Al enjoyed spending their time traveling, gardening and the love of their church. Irene was a kind person who enjoyed company and loved to play Scrabble.
Irene was surrounded by special people, Diana and Ron Sharp, who were instrumental in her well-being and enriched her life with care and love. At this time, we would also like to thank Wanda Goldade and Maryanne Isenberger for their kindness. We would also like to thank the staff at Silverton Health & Rehab of Cascadia for their care of Irene in her last days. Irene is survived by her brother, John Gardner, of Lake Jackson, Texas, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Irene is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Al, her siblings, Bea Shaw, Arlie Gardner and Jim Gardner. Memorials can made in Irene's name to the Church of the Nazarene.
The funeral service will be held in her honor at English Funeral Chapel, 1133 N. Fourth St. Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2024, at 1 p.m. Please visit Irene's online memorial at www.englishfuneralchapel.com.
