Mary Elizabeth Cook

Mary Elizabeth Cook, 84, passed away in the comfort of her home in Plains on Oct. 26, 2024.

She was born Oct. 6, 1940 in Philadelphia to Carey and Mary Cook. She spent her youth in Southern Pines North Carolina and St. Augustine, FL. Mary served in the U.S. Navy and was a proud veteran. After serving in the Navy she worked as an Office Manager for Health First Physicians. She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Mary always had a smile and welcomed everyone. She was Light in heart and was loved by all who knew her. She will leave a void in our hearts but it's not goodbye, its 'I'll see ya later.'

She is preceded in death by her parents, Carey and Mary Cook; and sister, Ann Redmond.

She is survived by her children, Lisa Remsburg of Plains, and Sean Bandel of Vierra, FL; along with six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and sister, Eileen Gnick of Pensacola, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mass Service will be held on Nov. 9, 2024 at 11 a.m. at St James Catholic Church in Plains.
