We are very sad to announce her passing Oct. 26, 2024, with Scott and Pam by her side. She was born Dec. 23, 1942, in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, to Clarence and Katherine Vedder. Ann is a lifetime resident of Coeur d' Alene, Idaho. She graduated high school from The Academy of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.
Ann loved to travel with her husband, Red, by her side. They traveled around the world and back. After Red passed, she continued her travels with Rambling Rovers Traveling Club. Ann has been involved with Idaho softball for over 50 years. In 2004, she was inducted into the Idaho Sports Hall of Fame. Ann also worked as the office administrator for Idaho Fish and Game for 17 years.
Her passions in life were softball, snow skiing, traveling, bowling, Bible study groups, hanging out with her many friends and spending as much time as possible at her lake cabin. Her most prized possessions were her grandchildren and spending as much time with them.
Anna Marie is survived by her son, Scott Borek (Pam), grandchildren Kristina, Nickolas and Johnathan, stepson Micheal Halpern and brother Clarence Vedder Jr. She is preceded in death by her husband, Arnold "Red" Halpern; father Clarence Vedder Sr.; mother Katherine Vedder; sisters Darlene Wright and Colleen Fitzgerald and grandson Nathan Borek.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 8, 2024, at English Funeral Chapel, 1133 N. Fourth St., Coeur d'Alene, ID 83814, with a reception to follow. Graveside services will be at Forest Cemetery in Coeur d'Alene at 2 p.m.
