Mineral County standouts earn All-State selections

Two eight-player All-State selections will be back again next year for fans in Mineral County.

And other Class B-8 teams are well-represented by Mineral and Sanders county players on all Western conference rosters recently released. 

St. Regis junior Barrett Bessette, a slot-back/defense end on the Tigers’ playoff qualifying team made the All-state team and was chosen to the Western 8-player first team all-conference rosters for both positions. 

Sophomore Gannon Quinlan, a sophomore standout from Superior was also named to the All-state 8-player team and was also chosen to the Western Conference first team all-star squad as a tight end and outside linebacker. 

Selected to the All-conference teams was senior Trizten Avilla, second team as a wide receiver, and was also selected for the B-8 All-star game May 31 in Butte as an alternate. 

Joining Trizten from Superior were junior Sam Doughty, second team offensive line; Phin Cataldo, junior, second team slotback; sophomore quarterback Landon Richard, first team, and sophomore Turner Milender, first team defensive end and second team running back. 

Also chosen from St. Regis were sophomore quarterback Conner Lulis, first team; senior Hunter Stolla, first team outside linebacker and second team wide receiver, and senior Kaden Sanders second team tight end and second team inside linebacker. 

Plains senior standout Darren Standeford was named to the all-conference first team at quarterback. 

Valley Christian led all Western 8-player team all-state selections with four players, while Seeley-Swan had three named to the team.
