Barbara Batalia, 66

Barbara Jean Batalia, 66, passed away Thursday, Nov. 7, 2024, in Sagle, Idaho.

A celebration of Barb’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 17, 2024, at Second Avenue Pizza.

Barb was born Aug. 5, 1958, in Oakland, Calif., to Myron and Ruth Meyer. She grew up and attended schools in Greely, Colo.

Barb married Bobby Batalia on Nov. 3, 1974, in Evans, Colo. She fought hard, and was proud to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary by renewing their vows. They moved to Sandpoint in 1978 and Barb baked cakes. She later worked at Merwin’s Hardware and for Second Avenue Pizza.

She loved working in her pond and gardens. She enjoyed doing arts and crafts with the grandkids, tubing on the river, camping and decorating for the holidays.

She is survived by her husband, Bobby Batalia of Sagle; daughter Elaine (Keith) Fitzmoris of Athol; three grandchildren, Kathleena, Blake, and Holly; one brother, Butch (Nancy) Meyer of Fruitland, Idaho; and two dogs “Blizzard” and “Gizmo.”
