John Dailey Pryor

John Dailey Pryor, 85, of Moses Lake, Wash., passed away Nov. 7, 2024. 

Born on Sept. 4, 1939, to Delbert Pryor and Viola Beck in Indianola, Okla., he was the seventh born of 11 children. John's early years were marked by a trajectory from a cotton picker in Oklahoma to a skilled jet engine mechanic at Larson Air Force base where he served honorably from May 2, 1957, to May 1, 1961. Following his military service, John's career path led him through various industries, including working at Moses Lake Feed Mill, U&I Sugar, AAA Ready Mix, local dairies, McAtee & Heath and as a lounge manager.

John's zest for life was evident in his enjoyment of hunting, shooting, training dogs and packing with his mules. He cherished time with his family, especially keeping an eye on his grandchildren, whom he loved to tease and entertain with stories.

He leaves behind his beloved wife, Susan Pryor, and former wife Shirley Pryor; his sons, John, Tim, Tom, Monte, Eddie and Larry; 23 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. His sisters, Thelma, Ruth and Ellen, also survive him. 

A celebration of John's life will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Nov. 24. His life's story tells of a man who embraced every chapter with passion and resilience, enriching the lives of those around him through simple pleasures and a deep love for his family.
