Kevin Slaybaugh, head coach of the Glacier Twins American Legion baseball team, has announced his retirement from coaching. While stepping down from his on-field leadership, Slaybaugh will remain active with the organization, continuing his role as president.

Slaybaugh took over as head coach in 2020, leading the team to an impressive string of victories. Under his guidance, the Twins secured five first-place finishes in conference play, a state title in 2024, and second and third-place finishes in 2021 and 2024. 

Reflecting on his tenure, Slaybaugh expressed deep appreciation for the players, families, and supporters who have rallied around the team.

“Coaching this team has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life,” Slaybaugh said. “I’ve had the privilege of working with incredibly talented young athletes, and I’m proud of what we’ve achieved together.”

As Slaybaugh retires, his longtime assistant, Steve Andrachick, is also stepping down. 

“It’s been an honor working with Coach Slaybaugh and being part of this program,” Andrachick said. 

Nate Brown, who has served as head coach of the Glacier B team and an assistant coach on the A team since 2018, will step in as the new head coach. Brown brings familiarity and experience with the team and looks forward to building on the program's strong foundation.

Lindsey Andrachick will continue as General Manager, a role she has held since 2018, and Kim Slaybaugh will continue to work on tournament and fundraising activities.

The Glacier Twins will hold their annual fall player-parent meeting on November 11 at 7 p.m. in the upstairs room of Whitefish’s Grouse Mountain Lodge. The meeting will provide a chance for families to ask questions, receive fundraising information, and meet the coaching staff. The team also welcomes additional coaching staff, with applications available on the Glacier Twins website glaciertwinsbaseball.org.
