Carter Gordon
Lewis-Clark State cross country
Gordon, a senior from Lake City High, earned All-Cascade Conference honors after finishing 12th in the conference championship meet on Nov. 8 at the Rose City Golf Course in Portland. It was the first selection for Gordon in cross country. Lewis-Clark State is ranked 16th in the NAIA entering nationals on Nov. 22 in Columbia, Mo.
Chris Swider
Gonzaga men's soccer
Swider, from Coeur d'Alene High, concluded his collegiate career Saturday for the Bulldogs in a 2-0 home loss to Pacific at Luger Field. Gonzaga finished 6-10-2, 0-8-0 West Coast Conference. Swider, a midfielder/forward, scored five goals this season for the Zags. For his Gonzaga career, he totaled nine goals and three assists in 48 games.
Taryn Riley
College of Idaho women's basketball
Riley (nee Soumas), a junior guard from Timberlake High, returned to action last weekend for the Yotes, after missing last season with a knee injury. She played 41 minutes as College of Idaho split a pair of games, totaling 13 points and four assists.
Colson Yankoff
Washington Commanders
Yankoff, from Coeur d'Alene High, was placed on injured reserve by Washington last week with a hamstring injury. Yankoff, a tight end, saw most of his action on special teams for the Commanders, seeing action in six of their first games. He's played 101 snaps on special teams, with four tackles, and six snaps on offense. He missed Sunday's game vs. Pittsburgh, and will miss games vs. Philadelphia, Dallas and Tennessee. The earliest he could return from the IR is Dec. 15 vs. New Orleans.
Kaley Bohl
Community Colleges of Spokane cross country
Bohl, a sophomore from Post Falls High, finished second the NWAC Championship race on Nov. 8 at Chambers Creek Regional Park in 18 minutes, 32.6 seconds, helping the Sasquatch claim a second straight conference title, 20th overall.
Capri Sims
Central Washington women's basketball
Sims, a 6-foot sophomore forward from Post Falls High, was named to the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Preseason all-conference team. Sims averaged 9.5 points and 8.2 rebounds a game for the Wildcats as a freshman, recording eight double-doubles. Sims has started both games for Central Washington (2-0) this season, grabbing 12 rebounds against Stanislaus State on Nov. 8 in Ellensburg, Wash.
