COLLEGE WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: Balanced Vandals win in home opener

Graduate student Jennifer Aadland had 12 points, 10 rebounds, three assists, four steals and two blocks for the Idaho Vandals in a 76-51 win over NAIA Walla Walla for head coach Arthur Moreira’s first career win.

Sophomore Hope Hassmann hit a 3-pointer to give the Vandals a 20-17 lead with 33 seconds remaining in the first quarter.

Graduate student Rosie Schweizer led the Vandals with 14 points and Hassmann finished with 13 points, nine rebounds and four assists.

Idaho (1-2) travels to Southern Utah on Saturday at 1 p.m.

Walla Walla is 0-2.

Wyoming 69, Regis 57: At Laramie, Wyo., Madi Symons, a sophomore from Coeur d’Alene High, had two points, eight rebounds and two steals for the Cowgirls (1-2) in a win over Regis (Colo.) in nonconference play. It was the first career start for Symons at Wyoming, which travels to Gonzaga on Sunday (1 p.m., ESPN+).
