Phyllis Jansen, 78

Phyllis (Webb) Jansen, age 78, passed away on September 7, 2024, at the Boundary Community Hospital. Phyllis was born February 3, 1946, in Norfolk Virginia to George and Ruby Webb.
Phyllis had a great passion for music and art in high school and was first chair in the state of Virginia in the flute. Later, in college she played flute in the orchestra, playing a short period in the Spokane Symphony.
Soon after high school, Phyllis married Don Klaus who was stationed in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. After Don finished his service in the Marines, the couple moved to his home town of Lewiston Idaho in 1966. Don and Phyllis had two sons, Mike and Bart
Don and Phyllis divorced in the late 1960s and Phyllis married Gary Jansen in 1975. They started out their marriage with a blended family that included Phyllis’s two sons and Gary’s children, Lonnie, Sheri, and Dan. Gary and Phyllis were married until Gary’s recent passing in July 2024. Gary and Phyllis shared common interests in gardening and caring for stray animals.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Gary; her parents, George and Ruby Webb; sister, Joanne Bresnahan; and son, Bart Klaus. She is survived by her sister, Carole Porthouse; brother, Buddy Webb; son, Mike (Tammy) Klaus; stepchildren, Lonnie (Ron) Walkup, Sheri (Marty) Hirst, Dan (Freda) Jansen; along with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Phyllis’s family will be forever grateful to all the staff at the Boundary Community Hospital and Kaniksu Health Services for their kindness and care.
