Free pizza for working smoke alarms

The Moses Lake Fire Department has partnered with Dominos for National Fire Prevention Week. Customers who order a pizza from Dominos Monday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. will have the meal delivered to their home by MLFD, who, with permission, will check smoke alarms. If the alarm works, the pizza is free. If not, MLFD will replace the batteries for free.

MOSES LAKE — Next week is National Fire Prevention Week and the Moses Lake Fire Department has partnered with the 402 East Broadway Avenue Dominos in celebration.
Monday, Oct. 7, MLFD will be delivering pizzas to Dominos customers from 6 to 8 p.m. and if permitted the firefighters will check smoke alarms in the customer's house. If the smoke alarms work, the pizza is free. If not, MLFD will replace the batteries in the unit at no cost.
The theme for this year is “Smoke Alarms: Make Them Work For You!” The MLFD will be releasing statements for community members in regard to fire safety in homes.

Four Basin students honored at EOU
LA GRANDE, Ore. — Four Basin students were among 635 named to the Eastern Oregon University Dean’s List for the 2025 winter term, according to an announcement from the university. Qualifying students achieve and maintain a grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale while completing a minimum of 12 hours of graded coursework for the term. Water gun brings police to Coeur d’Alene High School
Police responded to a Friday morning report of a student outside Coeur d’Alene High School with what appeared to be a firearm, which turned out to be a water gun.
