Kathleen 'Kathy' Joan Harrison, 79

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Kathleen "Kathy" Joan Harrison of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, passed away Sept. 19, 2024, at Kootenai Medical Center in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. She was born April 9, 1945, in Yakima, Wash. Kathy was the daughter of Earl Thomas and Lori Jeanne (LaFontaine) Morton.

Kathy was raised in Yakima and Dillon, Montana. She graduated from Dillon High School and earned her bachelor's degree from Western Montana College in Dillon. 

In 1964, Kathy was united in marriage to Daniel Dwight Harrison in Dillon. She moved to the Silver Valley with her family in 1979. Kathy spent her entire teaching career at Pinehurst Elementary School as a firstgrade teacher who never graduated past the first grade! Kathy loved spending time with her family and reading.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Kelt Morton, and her husband of 51 years, Dan Harrison. Her four sons survive her: David (Sally) Harrison of Rathdrum, Kevin (Lisa) Harrison of Garwood, Mark (Stacey) Harrison of Salem, Ore., and Steve Harrison of Coeur d’Alene; seven grandchildren: Jacob and Garrett Harrison, Austin Harrison, Bailey and Katy Harrison, and Katie and Ryan Harrison; two great-grandsons: Gideon Harrison and Riggins Harrison; brother Mike (Bobbi) Morton, two sisters: Kim (Steve) Bales and Sue (Jim) Vargo. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and other extended family members.  A celebration of life will be held Saturday, Oct. 5, 2024.
