The Flathead County Sheriff's Office on Monday identified the motorist killed in a wreck on Foys Canyon Road over the weekend as 44-year-old Shaun Madrazo of Somers.
Madrazo failed to negotiate a turn while driving his Dodge Ram 2500 northbound on Foys Canyon Road by Orchard Ridge Road in Kalispell and ended up in a ditch about 5:50 a.m., Oct. 5, according to Montana Highway Patrol. The truck rolled during the crash and came to a rest on its roof.
Madrazo, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected and pinned beneath the cab of the truck, officials said. Authorities pronounced him dead at the scene.
Alcohol is suspected as playing a role in the deadly crash, officials said. Road conditions were described as clear and dry.
Montana Highway Patrol is investigating the wreck.
