Next year's game is scheduled for Oct. 11, 2025, in Oxford, Miss. The game marks the first meeting between the two programs. The last Southeastern Conference school WSU has faced was at Auburn to open the 2013 season.
While next year's contest at Ole Miss is the first SEC opponent for WSU in 11 seasons, the Cougars previously announced a home-and-home series with SEC-member Mississippi State, travelling to Starkville in 2030 and hosting the Bulldogs the following season.
The addition of Mississippi to the 2025 schedule marks the seventh announced opponent for WSU's 2025 schedule. Previously, the Cougars had announced home contests against Idaho, San Diego State, Washington and Oregon State, while WSU will travel to Ole Miss, North Texas and Virginia.
Zags, USC to meet in season-opening charity exhibition
Gonzaga and Southern California will start off their 2024-25 men's basketball seasons with a charity exhibition matchup in Acrisure Arena in Palm Desert, Calif., on Oct. 26.
Proceeds will help support Eisenhower Health’s growing Cardiovascular Institute in Rancho Mirage, Calif.
Tickets for this event go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. PT at Ticketmaster.com, the official ticketing provider of Acrisure Arena, with a presale available on Thursday, Oct. 10, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. PT. Ticket prices start at $25 plus applicable fees.

USC and GU have met four times in the regular season, with both teams winning twice. The Bulldogs have won the last two meetings, in the 2021 Elite Eight and last season in Las Vegas 89-76.
The Trojans won the first two matchups in the series — 77-60 on Dec. 4, 1991, in the Spokane Coliseum, and at USC, 77-59 on Dec. 7, 1992.
First-year USC head coach Eric Musselman has 12 new scholarship players. Last year, USC was 15-18, 8-12 in its final season in the Pac-12. This year, USC begins its inaugural season in the Big Ten Conference.
Gonzaga starts its regular season schedule against Baylor at the Spokane Arena on Nov. 4.
