EPHRATA — The American Legion Art Semro Post 28 will be sponsoring a candidate forum Oct. 23, according to an announcement from the post.

All candidates for contested races on the ballot in Grant County have been invited to attend, according to the announcement. These candidates include hopefuls for all statewide races and the 4th District congressional race plus all Grant County-wide races.

Each candidate for an office will be given five minutes to express his or her views, and then the floor will be open for questions from the audience, according to the announcement. Moderators will then move on to the next pair of candidates.

This event is open to the public.

“We are looking forward to our fellow citizens coming down to the post and holding local candidates’ feet to the fire,” the post wrote in the announcement.

The American Legion will provide limited refreshments of coffee, lemonade and ice water.

This function will take place at the Legion post at 276 Eighth Ave. NW in Ephrata. Doors will open at 5 p.m. and the forum will start promptly at 6:30 p.m.
