The St. Regis Lady Tigers put up a tough fight against the always-tough Lady Blackhawks in Seeley-Swan this past week, but it was not enough to overcome the tall, talented home team in a 3-0 Seeley sweep.

Things looked good for St. Regis in the opening set as they raced out to a 10-4 lead before Seeley roared back and tied the set at 20 after a series of ties and lead changes.  The host team took the set lead at 22-21, then held off the Lady Tigers en route to an energetic 25-23 win and a 1-0 match advantage.

The second set was close early and tied at 12-12 before Seeley went on a run and built an 18-14 lead.  The Lady Hawks scored six straight points to take a 24-17 lead, then put the set away with a service ace, giving them a 25-17 set two win and a 2-0 match lead.

In the third set, after a 2-2, Seeley methodically established an 11-4 lead, then steadily grew their advantage to win the set 25-13 win and a 3-0 match sweep.

St. Regis stands at 4-4 following the loss, while Seeley advanced to 8-4.

Next up for the Lady Tigers is a match tonight (Oct 15) versus the Lady Heat in Hot Springs.  They close out their week with a trip to Lincoln to take on the Lady Lynx, Saturday (Oct 19) with the varsity match beginning at 3 pm.
