Noxon volleyball falls to Troy
CHUCK BANDEL | Hagadone News Network | UPDATED 3 months AGO
The Noxon volleyball team had a “devil” of a time in Troy where they faced the Lady Trojans this past Thursday.
The Class B Trojans jumped out to a quick lead in the opening set of play and cruised to a relatively comfortable 25-12 win, giving them a 1-0 match edge.
Noxon regrouped and gave Troy all they could handle in the second set, which was ripe with ties and lead changes throughout. However, Troy managed to hold on for a narrow, 25-23 win and a 2-0 match lead.
The third set was captured by the host team, 25-18, completing the 3-0 sweep.
The win boosted Troy to 3-7 on the year. They are 0-7 in Western B play.
Noxon dropped to 2-3 on the year with the loss.
Next up for the Lady Devils are their final three scheduled games of the regular season, beginning tonight (Oct 15) with a home match versus Troy. They remain at home for a Thursday (Oct 17) match against Charlo, then close out their regular season, also at home, with a match against Seeley-Swan this Saturday (Oct 19).
