MOSES LAKE – BrucePac is recalling approximately 11,765,285 pounds of ready-to-eat meat and poultry products due to potential contamination with Listeria monocytogenes, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service reported Oct. 9. 

The affected products were produced between May 31, 2024, and Oct. 8, 2024, and were distributed nationwide to restaurants, schools and other institutions. There is 343 pages of recalled products posted on the FSIS website at https://bit.ly/MeatAndFishRecall. 

Recent developments have raised concerns regarding food safety, as several establishments, including businesses in East Wenatchee, Davenport and Warden have also been identified as potential distributors of these recalled items. 

The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service is actively working to collect further distribution details, according to their press release. 

The recall was prompted by routine testing conducted by FSIS, which detected Listeria monocytogenes in finished products containing RTE poultry from BrucePac. The company’s establishment numbers, either "51205 or P-51205," can be found within or beneath the USDA mark of inspection on the product labels. 

While there are no confirmed reports of illness related to these products, consumers are urged to take precautions. Listeria exposure can lead to listeriosis, which poses severe health risks, particularly for older adults, pregnant women and individuals with weakened immune systems.  

Symptoms can include fever, muscle aches, and gastrointestinal issues. FSIS recommends that any establishments in possession of these products refrain from serving them and dispose of any recalled items.
