Louise Lankford (84), of Pinehurst, Idaho, passed away Oct. 9, 2024, at Cascadia in Silverton, Idaho, after a battle with cancer. She was born Dec. 21, 1939, in Inverness, Mont. Louise was the daughter of Verne and Dorothy (Adams) Sauer.

Louise moved to the Silver Valley as a child and grew up in Silver King, where her family home was located on the hill. The Sauer Family home was known to neighbors and friends as a place to go.

Louise was working as a roller-skating bar hop at The Boat when she met Leonard. She waited on him often, and they fell in love and were married in August 1956. They lived in Silver King for a short period of time. They moved around a bit and then settled in the family home in Pinehurst. Later, they built a log house in 1987, where they continued to raise their three children and entertained grandchildren.

She will be remembered as a devoted wife who took care of her husband until his passing in 2014. Her faith and love for Jehovah were most important to her, besides her family. She was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses at the young age of 8 and never left it. She shared her faith with all she would meet. Louise was the type of person who could make friends with whomever she met.

Louise is survived by her children, Lorenda (Brad) Youngwirth, Brenda (Mike) Peterson and Marlon Lankford; her grandchildren, Lavoryn (Jessica) Nguyen, Tashua (Josh) Seaton, Afton (Keith) Trout, Ashlee (Aaron) Bordes, Gentry Peterson, Tyler Lankford, Riley (Deanna) Lankford and four great-grandchildren.
