The Daily Inter Lake is bringing readers a series of candidate profiles for local races ahead of the Nov. 5 election.  

Democrat Dave Fern, a longtime legislator, is looking to serve in a newly redrawn Senate District 2, encompassing parts of north Flathead Valley. Fern, who served on Gov. Greg Gianforte’s interim legislative committees on property taxes and mental health, will face Whitefish Republican Doug Adams.
