Two audits, no significant findings

OLYMPIA – The Washtucna School District, in Adams County had no significant findings in their September 2022 to August 2023 audit conducted by the Office of the Washington State Auditor. The district has around 81 students in one school building that serves kindergarten through twelfth grade. The audit focused on ensuring the district was in compliance with state laws, regulations, their district’s policies and safeguarding of public resources.
Grant County Mosquito Control District No. 3, also had no significant findings in its January 2022 to December 2023 audit by the WAO. The GCMCD3 works around South Banks Lake around Coulee City in Grant County. The audit focused on ensuring the district was in compliance with state laws, regulations, their district’s policies and safeguarding of public resources.

Kennewick woman killed in Othello-area collision
OTHELLO — A Kennewick woman was killed when she ran into a semitruck at the intersection of SR 26 and South Booker Road early Thursday morning.
State Route 26 closed due to fatality collision
OTHELLO — State Route 26 is closed due to a fatality collision between a car and a semitruck near South Booker Road about four miles east of Othello, according to information from the Washington State Patrol and the Washington Department of Transportation. Coeur d'Alene to host fair housing training
Event takes place at public library in October
