MOSES LAKE – With the playoffs just a few weeks away, several local teams remain in contention to win their respective league titles this season. 

Almira/Coulee-Hartline (6-2, 3-1 NEB) 

30-24 loss vs Wilbur-Creston-Keller 

The Warriors were held to just five offensive plays in the second half of Friday’s loss to the Wildcats, struggling to get off the field defensively against Wilbur-Creston-Keller's offense. 

ACH scored three touchdowns in the loss, with juniors Adyn Peha, Harvest Parrish and Brady Roberts all reaching the end zone. Peha brought the game within two on a 14-yard touchdown, with the Warriors tying the Wildcats at eight just before halftime. Senior Jameson Conley caught two of the three Warrior two-point conversion attempts, with sophomore Brody Pitts hauling in the other. 

The Warriors were held to just 57 rushing yards in the loss. Junior quarterback Caden Correia completed five-of-10 passes for 124 yards and two touchdowns. 

ACH hosts Odessa on Friday at 7 p.m. 

Ephrata (4-4, 4-3 CWAC)  

34-13 win vs Selah 

The Tigers snapped a four-game skid with Friday’s win over Selah, defeating the Vikings 34-13 and holding Selah to just 150 yards of total offense.  

Ephrata ran for 209 yards in the win, led by junior Brady Hendrick’s 71 yards and two touchdowns on 13 carries. Senior Elijah Chavez-Mabry ran for 64 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries in the win. 

Hendrick completed 10 out of 20 passes for 178 yards and a touchdown. Senior Coltyn Klingenberg caught five passes for 115 yards and a touchdown. 

Defensively, Ephrata forced three turnovers in Friday’s win – two fumble recoveries and an interception by senior Llandon Ahmann. Sophomore Cooper Kriete had three quarterback sacks. 

Ephrata travels to Grandview on Thursday at 7 p.m. 

Lind-Ritzville/Sprague (3-5, 2-4 NE2B) 

48-28 loss at Asotin  

LRS fell in its fourth consecutive game Friday, suffering a 48-28 loss on the road against Asotin.  

The Broncos were led on the ground by senior Brody Boness, who ran for 212 yards and a touchdown on 27 carries. Sophomore Cameron Boness completed seven-of-11 passes for 81 yards and two touchdowns, throwing one to senior Carson Kubik and the other to Brody Boness. Sophomore Cole Rouleau led LRS in receiving with three catches for 43 yards. 

LRS hosts Freeman on Friday at 7 p.m. 

Moses Lake (7-1, 5-0 CBBN) 

58-0 win at West Valley (Yakima)  

A 35-point second quarter surged the Mavericks in their shutout of the Rams, winning the game 58-0 to claim their seventh straight win. 

Junior Brady Jay completed 29-of-39 passes for 404 yards and six touchdowns in the win, with sophomore Elijah Burns catching 11 passes for 147 yards and touchdowns to lead the Mavs. Juniors Grant Smith, Hudson Palmer and Carter Anderson (two) all caught touchdowns in the win. 

Sophomore Taggart Rathbun had an interception returned for a touchdown and a safety in the win. 

Moses Lake hosts Davis on Friday at 7 p.m.  

MLCA/CCS (4-3, 3-1 CWB)  

55-24 win at Bridgeport 

The Lions racked up more than 300 yards of total offense in Friday’s win over Bridgeport, defeating the Mustangs 55-24 on the road to win their third straight game after a 1-3 start to the season. 

Junior Johnny Ferguson completed nine-of-10 passes for 169 yards and three touchdowns, adding two more touchdowns and 62 yards on three rushing attempts. Ferguson also returned two interceptions for touchdowns in the win. 

Senior Levi North carried the ball four times for 52 yards and a touchdown and caught one pass for 69 yards and a touchdown. Junior James Robertson and sophomore Treyson Kast also caught touchdowns in the win. 

MLCA/CCS travels to Soap Lake on Friday at 7 p.m. 

Othello (7-1, 6-1 CWAC)  

34-13 win vs Toppenish – statistics not available 

The Huskies rebounded from last week’s loss against Prosser with a defeat of Toppenish on Friday night, winning 34-13 over the visiting Wildcats.  

A win over Quincy on Friday would secure the Central Washington Athletic Conference league title for Othello. Kickoff between the Jackrabbits and Huskies is at 7 p.m. in Quincy. 

Quincy (1-7, 0-7 CWAC)  

53-0 loss at East Valley (Yakima) - statistics not available 

The Jacks were shut out of Friday’s game against the Red Devils, as Quincy moves on to its CWAC finale at home against Othello on Friday at 7 p.m. 

Royal (8-0, 7-0 SCAC)  

76-0 win vs Naches Valley 

The Knights posted their second straight shutout and third of the season on Thursday, defeating visiting Naches Valley 76-0 in the final home game of the regular season. 

Royal scored 57 of its points in the first quarter; senior Jackson Larsen (53-yard pass), senior Santana Luna (38-yard punt return), senior Lance Allred (25-yard interception return), junior Benson Jenks (37-yard run, 38-yard pass), sophomore Fischer Livingston (55-yard kickoff return), junior Brody Bishop (20-yard fumble return) and senior Kevin Gutierrez (47-yard run) all scored in the first 12 minutes of the game. 

On defense, Royal forced four turnovers and held the Rangers to just 38 yards Thursday night. 

Royal travels to Wapato on Friday at 7 p.m. 

Soap Lake (4-3, 2-2 CWB)  

40-38 loss at Waterville-Mansfield 

Soap Lake lost its second straight game on Friday night, losing 40-38 on the road against Waterville-Mansfield. 

Senior Jairo Lopez carried the bulk of the workload in Friday’s loss to the Shockers, completing 12-of-24 passes for 309 yards, five touchdowns and an interception while running for 153 yards on 20 carries. 

Junior Logan Northup led the Eagles in receiving with 146 yards and two touchdowns on eight receptions, while senior Kyle Ayers also caught two scores and 115 yards on two catches. 

Soap Lake hosts MLCA/CCS on Friday at 7 p.m. 

Wahluke (2-6, 2-5 SCAC)  

50-14 loss at Zillah 

The Warriors lost 50-14 on the road against Zillah on Friday, dropping their sixth consecutive game.  

Junior Keaton Zirker completed 15-of-28 passes for 164 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. Sophomore Jose Acevedo led Wahluke in receiving with six catches for 74 yards and a touchdown in the loss, followed by junior Damien Cardenas who posted five catches for 53 yards and a touchdown.  

Wahluke closes its league schedule Friday at Connell. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. 

Warden (5-3, 1-3 EWAC East) 

42-8 loss vs Granger – statistics not available 

Battling injuries, the Cougars took the field for their final home game of the season on Friday, falling 42-8 to visiting Granger. Warden travels to Kittitas on Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Eastern Washington Athletic Conference crossover. 

    With Friday’s 58-0 win over West Valley (Yakima), the Moses Lake Mavericks have won seven straight games and shut out three of their last four opponents.
