Leishman 5th at state cross country

Mission’s Harlon Leishman was the Mission Valley’s top finisher in the Class B State Cross Country Championships at the University of Montana Golf Course in Missoula on Saturday, October 26, with a personal best of 16:21.2.

Arlee’s Trevor VanMaanen was 58th with a personal best (18:39), while Mission’s Sawyer Pule was 95th (19:38). Fellow Bulldog Jason Leishman was 118th (20:07), and Jake Helser was 120th (20:08.4) while Branson Zempel was 124th (20:11).

Arlee’s Jason Wright ran a personal best 20:40.4.

In the girls' race, Arlee’s Anola Naugle ran the best time of her career (20:25.9) to place 17th. Mission’s Brooklyn Leishman was the top Lady Bulldog with a time of 22:40.58) to place 56th. Elsie Detert was 58th (22:45.5). Quincy Jensen posted a time of 25:53.7 to place 140th.

The Mission boys placed 17th as a team.
