One in custody following shooting in Kalispell

One person is in custody and another hospitalized following a shooting on South Meridian Road in Kalispell on Thursday afternoon, authorities say.
Gunfire on the 400 block of South Meridian Road began about 3:20 p.m., said Kalispell Police Chief Jordan Venezio. One person was injured, he said.
Venezio described the shooting as isolated and said he believed the public was no longer in any danger.
Residents of the neighborhood can expect to see a large police presence, Venezio said. He urged motorists to avoid the area.
Officials expect to release more information about the shooting.
