Polson sweeps Libby, falls to Whitefish

Polson picked up a 3-0 sweep over Libby in Northwest A Conference action on Thursday, Oct. 24 to rebound from a loss to Whitefish on Tuesday, Oct. 22.

The Lady Pirate cut down the Lady Loggers in three sets 25-9, 25-13, 25-22, and improved to 8-2 in league play. McKenna Corley had 11 kills for Polson, while Sam Rensvold added another six kills. Rylee Taylor-Jefferson notched 21 assists.

At the service stripe Embree Bird had five aces to go along with seven digs, while Rensvold led the team on defense with 14 digs. Josie Henriksen has two blocks.

Against Whitefish, each set was a battle, but Polson fell 25-20, 25-17, 25-17.

Corley led Polson with 11 kills, and Rensvold had eight kills. Leading the offense was Taylor-Jefferson with 29 sets. At the net, Corley was a power with three blocks, while Rensvold anchored the backline with 12 digs.

Ronan Splits Last Week's Matches

Ronan fell to Columbia Falls on Tuesday, October 22, in four sets 25-20, 25-12, 23-25, 25-23 in Northwest A Conference volleyball action but bounced back with a sweep over Libby on Saturday, October 26.

Against the Wildkats on Tuesday, Sierra Blood led the Maidens with 12 kills while Lauryn Buhr added another 11. Zailee Hewankorn notched seven.

Seattle Adams dished out 27 assists to go along with her ace and block. On defense, Kaydance Santos had 20 digs, and Blood had 12. Aubrey Krell had ten digs.

In their win against Libby, Buhr and Blood each had eight kills, while Santos led the team in digs with 27 and had two aces.

Krell had 14 digs and 24 assists.

The win moved Ronan to 6-8 in conference play and 9-14 overall.
