Utah cross country
Peters, a sophomore from Post Falls High, was named this week's Female Division I USTFCCA National Athlete of the Week after winning the women's title at the Utah Valley Invitational on Aug. 30. It is the first time a Ute has won the award since it began in 2013. Peters won the race in 16 minutes, 25.8 seconds, with the second-place finisher 12.1 seconds behind.

West, a sophomore from Coeur d'Alene High, shot a 73 in the final round of the Bushnell Fall Invitational on Tuesay at Pine Ridge in Springfield, Ore. West, one of three Warriors with a 73 in the final round, had a pair of birdies on the 6th and 14th hole to finish tied for 15th with a 74-80-73—227.
