Driver hits MLPD vehicle

MOSES LAKE — A suspect hit a Moses Lake Police vehicle after attempting to elude police officers Sept. 12 at around 12:49 a.m. Both MLPD and Washington State Patrol handled the situation.
Randy Mckinney, 60, from Moses Lake was booked into Grant County Jail for driving under the influence, eluding police and third-degree assault, according to MLPD.
The pursuit began with McKinney failing to yield for a driving under the influence stop after driving recklessly, according to the MLPD. Officers then used spike strips on the suspects' vehicle, however he continued to flee. Officers then used a pursuit intervention technique to bring the vehicle to a stop at Longview Drive and Olympic Drive.
The officer sustained a minor injury and was treated then released, according to MLPD.

The park is divided into zones for different ages, from birth to 3 years of age, 4 to 6 years, 7 to 10 years and 11 and 12 years. Parents should plan to have their children there on time, according to the organizers, since the egg hunters are released promptly at noon and it doesn’t take them long to make a clean sweep of the eggs.
Suspect arrested in Soap Lake arson case
SOAP LAKE — An unidentified man was arrested on suspicion of arson Wednesday after allegedly setting fire to clothing that ignited nearby brush. The fire was reported in the 2200 block of Road 20 Northeast at about 7:45 p.m., according to a post from Grant County Fire District 7.
