WARDEN — The Adams County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of Rafael Preneda after he turned himself in following being identified as a suspect in a vehicle theft case.
Deputies had served a search warrant Wednesday at property in the 9500 block of Road U Southeast south of Warden.
“The individuals at this location have been identified as suspects involved in the theft of a semi-tractor and trailer and theft of diesel fuel from Adams County,” according to an ACSO release. “In addition, deputies discovered a brand-new (trailer) which was stolen from a dealership near King City in Franklin County.”
ACSO then announced that Pruneda was a suspect in the case and asked for the public’s help in tracking him down.
After being booked into the Franklin County Jail on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, a Class B felony, as well as theft in the third degree. Pruneda may face other charges.
“We extend our gratitude to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, Warden Police Department, and Franklin County Sheriff’s Office for their valuable assistance. We also want to thank the members of our community who provided critical information to us. It takes a full community working together to keep us all safe,” Adams County Sheriff Dale Wagner said in a statement.

Road projects on hold for Labor Day weekend
MOSES LAKE — With Labor Day weekend dead ahead, drivers will be able to move freely about the state. Most road projects are on hold for the holiday weekend.
